ASSISTANT SWIM COACH

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Any combination equivalent to a high school diploma or GED Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law.
  2. Knowledge of fundamentals in various sports. 
  3. Knowledge of Health and safety regulations.
  4. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
  5. Assist coaches on one or more sports.
  6. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  7. Read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  8. Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  9. Successful completion of criminal record check, AIDS awareness training.
  10. Current certification in first aid and CPR.

 

 

REPORTS TO:          Head Coach   

 

JOB GOAL:   Assist coaches in various secondary school athletic programs.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Assist coaches in daily and long-range athletic activities.
  2. Assist coaches in planning the athletic program.
  3. Conduct learning experiences, under the direction of the head coaches, with small groups of student athletes.
  4. Assist coaches in guiding participants toward a harmonious team spirit.
  5. Assist in providing escort assistance and supervision to athletes during periods of team travel.
  6. Recommend to the head coach the purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety, and welfare of student athletes.
  7. Perform other non-coaching duties assigned by the principal, athletic director, or head coach.

            Work schedule to be established.  (See Board approved scheduling.)

            Salary as established by the Board of Education.
