TITLE:                                                          Substitute Teacher

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

REPORTS TO:  Principal or, if so desired by the principal, to an assistant                                                                             principal.

 

JOB GOAL:  To enable each child to pursue his education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of his/her teacher.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1.  Report to the principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building.
  2.  Review with the principal or designated person, all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
  3.  Maintain, as fully as possible, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is   assigned.
  4.  Follow the lesson outlined and described in the lesson plan or plan book as prepared by the absent teacher.
  5.  Assume responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and, if appropriate, during lunch and recess periods.
  6.  Report, in writing, on the form provided by the school secretary, the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching   day.
  7.  Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice   dictates.
  8.  Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor.
  9.  2.45 GPA required

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:     Work schedule to be established.  (See board approved scheduling)

                                                          Salary as established by the Board of Education.
