TITLE: Substitute Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 64 semester hours and preferably holds a valid Kentucky teaching certificate.
- Has demonstrated an ability to work and communicate effectively with students and staff.
REPORTS TO: Principal or, if so desired by the principal, to an assistant principal.
JOB GOAL: To enable each child to pursue his education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of his/her teacher.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report to the principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building.
- Review with the principal or designated person, all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
- Maintain, as fully as possible, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned.
- Follow the lesson outlined and described in the lesson plan or plan book as prepared by the absent teacher.
- Assume responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and, if appropriate, during lunch and recess periods.
- Report, in writing, on the form provided by the school secretary, the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
- Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
- Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor.
- 2.45 GPA required
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work schedule to be established. (See board approved scheduling)
