TITLE:  Occupational Therapist                                                      

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Completion of a four (4) year degree in Occupational Therapy
  2. Licensed by the Ky Board of Occupational Therapy
  3. Two years experience working in occupational therapy.

 

REPORTS TO:   Director of Special Education

 

 

JOB GOAL:  Develop, disseminate, and evaluate programs and procedures for occupational therapy and assessment; provide occupational therapy to eligible individuals; supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned staff.

 

 

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

  • Designing the occupational therapy program so that it is consistent with the total educational philosophy of the district.
  • Continuing professional growth through educational meetings, literature, and exchanging ideas among the district staff.
  • Working in coordination with teachers and ancillary personnel in planning and developing the program.

 

 

Representative Duties:

  1. Complete occupational therapy observations, screenings, and evaluations as needed to access students with a wide variety of confirmed or suspected disabilities.
  2. Assist with the development and implementation of IEP’s for students.
  3. Complete reports, record progress, and interpret reports to school staff and families.
  4. Manages equipment, schedule, workplace, and therapy files.
  5. Oversee Occupational Therapist Assistant with assessment, reports, and training.
  6. Ability to work within a “teamwork” concept.
  7. Maintain student confidentiality both in and out of the school setting.
  8. Work cooperatively and respectfully with all other staff members.
  9. Participate in team meetings and in-service trainings.
  10. Complete Medicaid documentation.
  11. Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards.  Universal precautions must be utilized, and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.
  12. Perform duties to reflect district policies and procedures.
  13. Perform other related work duties as needed or assigned by supervisor.

 

 

Evaluation:

Annual evaluation in accordance with performance of job description and Campbell County School policies and procedures.

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   Work schedule to be established by Superintendent.

                                                   Salary as established by the Board of Education.
